Ways to give

No matter how you choose to give, every dollar matters. Your donation provides MUSC Children's Health with resources needed to fund priority initiatives, while at the same time enabling you to realize immediate income tax savings, substantial estate tax savings or, in some cases, income for life.

Making a cash gift by check or credit card benefits the children and families of MUSC Children’s Health immediately. In addition, these gifts qualify for federal tax deductions. For tax purposes, a gift of cash is considered to be made on the date it is postmarked, submitted online or hand-delivered.

Gifts of cash can be made by check and mailed to the MUSC Children’s Hospital Fund at the address below, please be sure to include our letter of intent in your envelope.

Please make checks payable to the MUSC Foundation and specify Campaign for MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital in the notes line of your check.

When you make a transformational gift, you are changing what’s possible for children in our community and around the world. Maybe you want to support research to find a cure for cancer. Perhaps you will fund the renovation of a clinical space that has exceeded capacity. Or maybe you will help children who desperately need care that their family can’t afford.  Whatever your passion in pediatric health, you will find it—and be able to support it—at MUSC Children’s Health. To learn more, please contact Barbara Rivers at 843-792-6643 or riversb@musc.edu.

Recognize a special occasion or person in your life with a memorial or tribute gift to MUSC Children’s Health. It’s a great way to honor a loved one and help sick children at the same time. MUSC Children’s will acknowledge your memorial or tribute gift by sending an appropriate note to the family or friend in whose name the gift was made.

Planned gifts, also known as deferred gifts, are those made through estate planning. In most cases, their value passes on to MUSC Children’s Health after a specified period of time or after the donor’s death. These gifts may consist of bequests, gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts, to name a few.

The Darby Legacy Society

The Darby Legacy Society consists of people who have made a gift to the Children’s Hospital through their estate plans. Members of this honorary group have included us in their wills, charitable trusts, charitable annuities, life insurance policies or other planned gift arrangements.

With a planned gift, you commit to make the gift today, but the gift does not actually pass to the hospital until the end of your life. That way, you are able to make a larger contribution than would be possible during your lifetime.

Making a gift of securities offers you the chance to help MUSC Children’s Health while realizing benefits for yourself. For more information about giving a gift of stock, please contact Linda Cox at 843-792-9562 or coxl@musc.edu.

Corporate gifts play an important role in supporting the care we provide to thousands of children and families each year. A philanthropic partnership with MUSC Children’s Health provides businesses with the opportunity to support research, clinical care, charitable or community services, or other initiatives at the hospital that showcase the company’s commitment to improving the health and welfare of children. For more information, contact Mimi Dorman at 843-792-0350 or dormanm@musc.edu.

If you or your business or organization would like to donate goods and/or services to the Children's Health please give us a call. There are some restrictions to what we can and cannot accept. We appreciate your generosity and look forward to speaking with you. We can be reached at 843-792-1294.

By purchasing an MUSC Children’s Health license plate, you can play an important role in supporting the care we provide to thousands of children and families each year. For every $50 license plate purchased, $42 will go towards funding the hospital’s Volunteer Advisory Committee’s Annual Grant Awards program.
