Seasonal Visitation Restrictions

Children's and Women's Health Visitation Guidelines for the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital & Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion

Our primary goal at MUSC Children's Health is the safety of our patients, families, and care team members. Given the ongoing community spread of respiratory viral illness, we are instituting the following visitor restrictions at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion.

As of November 14, 2022:

  • No family members or visitors under the age of 18 will be permitted.
  • Visitors will be screened by guest services and registrations team members. Any visitor for patients who screens positive for any of the following symptoms will not be permitted to visit:
    • Fever
    • Cough
    • Sore Throat
    • Chills
    • Runny Nose
    • Sneezing
    • Shortness of Breath
    • Chest Pain
    • Vomitting
    • Diarrhea
    • Abdominal Pain
  • Masking is highly recommended in patient care areas for family, visitors and care team members.

We realize these guidelines place additional stress on you and your family. Most rooms have special, highly-secured cameras that allow family and friends to visit using their internet-connected computer or smart phone. So, you can stay connected AND safe from infections that could be spread from person to person.

Any special concerns and questions can be routed through your care team members to the hospital supervisor. Please let us know what we can do to help you navigate this experience while receiving care at our hospital.
