Ranked Best Children's Hospitals in 4 specialties by US News and World Report

Dear friend,

We are delighted to report that the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital (SJCH) once again ranked as a top children’s hospital in the country by U.S. News & World Report (USNWR). These rankings help families, caregivers and referring physicians decide which hospital is best equipped to treat their child or patient.

This year four of our pediatric specialties ranked in the top 50 in the nation:

  • Cancer: No. 44
  • Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery: No. 12
  • GI & GI Surgery: No. 42
  • Nephrology: No. 30

SJCH was the only ranked children’s hospital in the state and ranked No. 12 in the highly competitive Southeast region. A critical criterion measured by USNWR is outcomes. Seven of 10 MUSC SJCH programs ranked in the top 50 nationally for the outcomes portion of their respective survey, including:

  • Heart: No. 4
  • Nephrology: No. 14
  • Cancer: No. 15
  • Neurology / Neurosurgery: No. 26
  • GI / GI Surgery: No. 38
  • Orthopaedics: No. 48
  • Pulmonary: No. 49

Every day, we see the outstanding care and expertise our care team members extend to children and families. It makes us proud that the exceptional level of care provided at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital is annually recognized. We could not do this without all of you and thank everyone for the extraordinary effort and support the past 16 months. As the proverb says, “It takes a village.”

We hope you and your family have a safe and more normal summer. #vaccinatesc.com.
