Pediatric & Congenital Heart Center Outcomes

The Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center at MUSC Children's Health is recognized across the nation as a leader in the highly specialized fields of pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery. Our surgical outcomes rank among the best centers in the world and are the best in the country as ranked by U.S. News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals for the year 2022 through 2023. We believe in the importance of being transparent with our outcomes and provide public reporting through the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). In fact, for the five years the STS provided a star rating (2016 through 2020), our Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center was the recipient of a three-star rating, denoting the highest category of quality, in all five years. The number of three-star recipients for each cycle ranged from only six to twelve out of approximately 120 centers nationally. This recognition of consistently exceptional care is unique.
